When you use Banyan Desktop App to register your VirtualBox virtual machines (VMs), you may notice the Banyan TrustScore for each of your VMs is inconsistent.

By default, VirtualBox does not assign a unique serial number to VMs. Therefore, when the Banyan Desktop App registers your VirtualBox VM with Banyan, it doesn't provide a unique serial number. This may cause device TrustScore to fluctuate across your VMs registered with Banyan.

To avoid this issue, we recommend manually setting a serial number for each VM registered with Banyan by running the command below:

VBoxManage setextradata {vm_name} "VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiBoardSerial" {serial}

For more information on configuring VirtualBox, please refer to their manual (specifically, section "Configuring the BIOS DMI Information").
